The Great Conjunction
Today, for the first time in a long time, I have felt an overwhelmingly POSITIVE energy force in the surrounding world. Perhaps some of that is originating from within – I am, indeed, riding a high after yesterday’s launch and just feeling an immense sense of purpose and alignment with my mind, body and soul.
Of particular interest and possible contribution to this energy is today being the day preceding the day of The Great Conjunction. For my Astrology and Kundalini folk, you’re all likely very much so up-to-date with what this means, both on a surface level and a much deeper spiritual level, but for those who aren’t I will break it down a bit…
Tomorrow is the day of the Winter Solstice – the first official day of winter. This year’s solstice is, however, like none other that we have experienced in our lifetime. For, tomorrow is the day where Jupiter and Saturn will be the closest in their orbits – a mere 0.1° apart. The convergence of these two mighty planets will yield a sight to see in tomorrow night’s sky. Now being so festively referred to as ‘The Christmas Star’, Jupiter and Saturn will essentially appear to become one, creating a magnificent and uniquely bright ‘super star’. If you’re lucky enough to be blessed with a clear sky and gaze Westwardly at the right time (from sunset onwards for about an hour) you may bear witness to this evening’s rare and majestic Earthly wonder. This is the first time in 800 years that Jupiter and Saturn will be this close – a strong testament, in my most humble opinion, to both the unique nature of this year, and to the beauty that lies in even life’s most trying times.
What else does this mean…?
The Great Convergence, the Winter Solstice and this particular day – December 21, 2020 – together form the dawn of a new Era; The Age of Aquarius (*Cue The 5th Dimension’s ‘Aquarius - Let The Sunshine In’ *). This new age is said to give rise to a huge shift in energy and awareness, an uplevelling to a state of higher consciousness, and an incredible emotional ‘clearing’ in the wake of this transition. This is a rebirth – of Earth and of thy self. A New Beginning.
As there is an abundance of information on the world wide web regarding the many meanings behind this conjunction, this new age, and the planets, I won’t dive head first down that rabbit hole today. To touch ever so lightly on the effects of this merging of planetary energies, here are a few takeaways:
Jupiter:
-Largest planet in the solar system; symbolic of immense power
-The planet of strength, growth, healing, expansion, fortune and knowledge
-Has a magnifying effect on everything;
Saturn:
-The most distant planet that can be seen by the naked eye
-The planet of discipline, boundaries, responsibility, authority, justice and long-term lessons
-Elicits a stabilizing effect on everything
In many ways, Jupiter and Saturn represent opposing forces – with Jupiter representing optimism, healing and evolution, while Saturn is associated with rules and challenges. Jupiter is expansive, while Saturn is restrictive.
Some see this as an omen. Arguably, it can also be seen as a beautiful convergence and blending of an array of characteristics and qualities, each of which have the potential to yield many valuable lessons.
Whether you believe in the powers that be, consider yourself religious, spiritual, in-tune with energy, or you’re sitting there wide-eyed and a little squirmy with the Woo-Woo word vomit I’ve just inundated you with, I truly believe this is a transformational time for us in many ways, and I urge you to take some time today and in the days to come to be present with yourself, your thoughts, your emotions and the energy both within and around you.
May today bring you an abundance of positive energy and good vibes.
May the remainder of 2020 bring you peace, love and joy.
And may 2021 be a year of growth and evolution for us all.
